"Aside from being one of L.A.'s most entertaining chefs, owner Larry Nicola is also one of the most talented. Nic's, his sleek restaurant/martini lounge in the heart of Beverly Hills, is a modern-day rendition of a supper club from a bygone Hollywood era, without appearing pretentious. Plush, roomy booths, candle-lit tables with buttercup yellow linen, and a collection of eclectic art make the room inviting to a diverse crowd. Live jazz, R&B and other musical performances keep the place humming on weekends -- the perfect scene in which to nurse a chocolate or Tangerine Dream martini from the restaurant's innovative bar. You don’t actually have to be rich or famous to drink like a high roller at the swanky Beverly Hills lounge Nic’s. On Monday nights, $7 grants you access to the ”walk in/drink in” vodka freezer, known as the VODBOX, for two shots of first-class booze. Feel even more like a baller by donning one of Nic's faux leopard coats (oversized-black for the gents) to bear the 28-degree temperature while you warm up your insides with the booze. Nic's also features $7 appetizers and a $21 three course, pre fixe menu.
