"If you go to Indy for a Colts game, think of Spencer's. Spencer's Stadium Tavern sits in the shadow of the home of the Colts, Lucas Oil Stadium. But it is so much more than a sports bar. Built in 1900, this served as a pharmacy and doctor’s office until 1932. Since 1933 it has been a neighborhood tavern, first as Serber’s Bar and then Mike’s Bar from 1949 until 2005. Food, drink, sport and fellowship have been served up here since the days when the clientele was mostly the factory workers who called this Irish immigrant neighborhood home. Now, Spencer’s Stadium Tavern, continues the best parts of that tradition. The menu features hearty tavern food & our specialty in American Microbrews and craft beers compliment the reasonable working class libations. Spencer's is also a great place to hear live Americana music, up close and intimate. Regularly featuring the best of Indy's Americana music scene and often featuring exceptional musicians from Nashville, Chicago, New York and New Orleans. People still talk of the mesmerizing performances they have witnessed at the tavern from Justin Townes Earle and Robbie Fulks. If you like music but don't know who those guys are, then google-up and learn. Spencer's professes it is a neighborhood tavern for the whole city. It might just be the neighborhood tavern for America."
