  • Tall boots

In the fall and early spring, boots that reach your ankles are perfect, but as it starts to get colder, we would suggest moving to a taller boot as they are far warmer. You can go for boots that are just under the knee, or over the knee depending on your personal preference, but a pair of tall boots in one style or the other is essential.

Another thing to think about when buying boots is the material. Suede is a clear choice to avoid as any wet or snowy weather will destroy them quickly. You can get some brands that do a great job at weather proofing their suede but you’ll have to pay a premium and there are still better options out there. Leather or a faux-leather is the obvious choice here, and is both stylish and waterproof so you won’t ruin your shoes or get wet.

For the colour we recommend neutrals to make them as versatile as possible, so greys, black and cognac are all good options.

  • Skinny jeans

Skinny jeans are the perfect combination with your high top boots, and can be easily tucked into to tops. A great tip is to go for super skinny style jean or jeggings (jean leggings) as these are the easiest to get into your boots.

  • Wool coat

If you spend a bit of money on an amazing wool coat, you won’t need another coat ever again. They are perfect for wearing out when you’re shopping, can be easily worn to work and can even be brought in for a fancy client dinner if needed. A wool coat is a fantastically versatile piece, and can be combined with jeans and a jumper for a casual winter look, or add it to your nicest work clothes and still look great.

  • Puffer jacket

In addition to you wool coat, the puffer jacket can be used when things need to get a bit more practical but you still want to look good. Make sure you get a waterproof jacket and be ready for anything, including shopping in the depths of winter without getting cold, and depending on the harshness of your winter you can get jackets are very capable of being worn in sub-freezing temperatures.
