Don’t Buy Alcohol at Restaurants

When we go out to eat, we often order drinks. While having the occasional drink with you meal at a restaurant is no big deal. It can add up real quick if you go out frequently. Even with frequent visits, one drink with your drink is fine.

But, if you really want to drink with your friends, it might not be the most cost-efficient option out there. If you are at a penny-pinching phase in your life, then obviously, avoiding restaurants entirely is a great way to save money. But, even if you do go, drinks are the most jacked up things on your menu.

When I was a kid, the only time my family and I would go out to eat was on really special occasions. As an adult though, I go out to eat several times a week, unlike when I was a child and dining out was a whole new exciting thing. Dining out has become a regular occurrence because either I am too busy to cook or am visiting or meeting up with people who are as busy as I am and meals seem like the best way to spend time together.

Because of the frequency at which I visit various restaurants, I know that the drink menu can be a total burn-a-hole-in-your-wallet option. Many people have a tough time cutting back on dining out, like me for instance. It’s not always luxury or enjoyment, it sometimes becomes a necessity depending on your lifestyle and also the people around you.

I and my friends are all workaholics, so the only time we get to spend with each other is usually dinner. And by the time dinner comes the ones who know how to cook are too tired to cook anything and others are hopeless in the cooking department. So, dining out together makes the most sense. It also makes us leave the office for once, and visit someplace other than home.

If you’re one of those people, if you are like us, then at least reduce your dining costs by skipping the booze. You will see the difference if you are a regular. We often eat and then go home for a nightcap. One drink at home is all we will usually have because we have work the next day. If it is a weekend then you bet we are drinking more, but then again we try to take it more to affordable places than restaurants because we again lack the cocktail making patience, and we love ourselves some cocktail!
