Three of My Favorite Cocktails for You to Try

Trying new cocktails has become my recent hobby. Hence, I have made quite a few posts on cocktails here – maybe it be homemade cocktails, champagne cocktails to serve at your parties, or cocktails that you should order at bars – I have a newfound love for trying new cocktails and sharing it with you.

That being said, there are a few cocktails that are my absolute favorite and I keep going back to them. They might not be that basic, but they aren’t that crazy either. Whenever I am not in a mood to experiment, I order one of these.

Cocktail

1. Green Apple Martini

Green apple martini is my favorite. It was my first go-to drink and I ordered it every time, no matter what I was drinking. It contains 3 parts vodka and one part apple schnapps/ apple liqueur, with Cointreau or lemon juice.

It is garnished with green apple slices and cherry. I think the taste is the reason I keep going back to this drink, but also this somehow makes me feel like all the drinks I had had earlier didn’t affect me at all.

2. Whiskey Sour

The first time I tried whiskey sour was as an experiment. The name intrigued me, I ordered it. The waiter asked me if I wanted it with egg or without egg. I didn’t know, so I said without. I could tell from his face that it was the wrong answer. So, I asked him what would he recommend. He said with egg because it was one of the main elements. I agreed, and I loved it!

It is a drink that contains whiskey (of course!), lemon juice, sugar, and optionally egg white. Some bars also top it with spoons of full-bodied red wine floating on the top. I think mine served it with a dash of red wine over the egg.

It tastes sweet, because the egg white foam is on the top of the glass, every sip you take goes through it and gives it a nice sweet taste. It quickly became my favorite and replaced green apple martini. Now, this is my go-to cocktail.

3. Sex on the Beach

The name is enough to intrigue people. Sex on the beach contains vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, and cranberry juice. From the selection in this drink, you can tell this is going to be sweet. It tastes quite refreshing which is also the reason why it is a popular summer drink.

It is served in a highball glass and served on the rocks, which helps keep the drink cool throughout. I enjoyed sipping it so much, and the name instantly made sense to me.

It somehow transported me to the beach, I felt like I was lounging in the shade and could feel the sea air if I closed my eyes, even though I was in a bar with loud music and crazy lights.

Final Thoughts:

These are some of my favorite drinks. Let me know if you have tried any of them or if they catch your fancy and you would like to try it.
