15 Common Drinking Myths Debunked

[tps_title]Myth 11: Absinthe is actually a strong hallucinogen disguised as alcohol[/tps_title]

absinthe

Remember the green fairy from Moulin Rouge? The drink is so strong that it’s actually banned from many countries. Wrong! The dancing fairy simply appeared to the men because they were drunk. Absinthe is just cheap alcohol. That’s it!  This was simply the drink of choice of broke drinkers who couldn’t afford expensive wines and high-end whiskeys. And because these men of yore tended to drink more than what’s norm, the reputation stuck through. Plus, the ingredients used to make Absinthe have improved. Our forefathers may have been fools to drink this toxic stuff, but what we have now isn’t more dangerous than the other drinks served in a bar.
