The Men Behind The Most Famous Names in Alcohol

Jack Daniel

Welsh and from Lynchburg, Tennessee, Jack was born to the name Jasper Newton Daniel. He created the whiskey that we all love to drink. His health was already failing by 1907 and decided to give the company to a family member.  Since he came from a large family, I’m sure it was tough to choose his favorite nephew, Lem Motlow. After four years, Jack died because of blood poisoning. The good news is that it wasn’t from drinking his brew, otherwise Jack and Coke might not be famous today.  Apparently it was from kicking his safe because he was frustrated that he always forgot the password.
